And, in the meantime, I can play. The above items (apart from the baby body suity-thing) is a knitted blanket and a home sewn bag to put the other items into, and then post off to a friend's daughter. She gave birth to Hamish, weighing in at 8 1/2 lbs (don't know what that is in new money) a week last Friday, and this is his welcome gift.
Now, I know that in the midst of all the wonderful crafty talent that is in blog interweb land, this is fairly tame, but it is done with love.
As was the late-lunch-fare I prepared this morning for nanny's best girl and her family, who are due to visit this afternoon. How lovely to have the time to do it. Bliss. There is another reason for their visit as well, they are staying here to look after the dog and the chickens while we are off to Cambridgeshire for The Wedding!
Cheery-bye, I'll see you again next week. Unless, of course, the hotel does have the wi-fi facilities it promises. I was more pleased that there are tea-making facilities to be honest!

I love your blog! Makes me very envious as I have a full time job....I dream of downsizing and moving to the seaside...! Teenage daughter has fits when I say this - seaside means social death to her!!
andyhoo, will pop by again and enjoy The Wedding!
What a spread! Looks delicious! So glad you are enjoying life. It suits you. xxxx
Hello what happened? hdigh? Thank you for your kind comments. Just to point out, though, I don't live at the seaside (unfortunately) I live in the wilds of rural Scotland! I have just visited the seaside with NBG, though and wished I could combine the two. Perhaps You'D like the seaside, though? Sorry for gabbling, it's late! But, Welcome to you and do call again! Karen.
I might have known you were Scottish. That spread is what MTL would live off given the chance. Poor devil.
I have to admit it looks delish.
How lovely, delightful home-made gifts and such delicious tea and cakes! It sounds as if you are really enjoying life. M xx

Mmmm, I would read this just as I am stuffing some leftovers into the microwave for the night.
Love the name Hamish. Love it love it love it. Wayyyy back when, my people were Scots. Been diluted with the Welsh, the German and the Spanish since then, but all my kids ended up with red hair. Hubby is Irish.
Thanks for dropping by my blog. Yours is delightful!
Hello and welcome, mot! Though, like you, I have some Scottish heritage, I and Mr P are English. But He has red hair, too!
Don't worry about the leftovers in the mike, I do it all the time, sometimes they're nicer than the original dish, aren't they?! K xx
Nothing tame about that blanket! beautiful and lovely shade of blue! And as for that high tea! well yum!! t.x
Hello kitschen pink, and welcome! Gosh, it's so long since I posted, but as you'll guess I do a bit of lurking! Thank you for your lovely comments, and do look in again. Karen x
